the spiced apple

Bourbon is great year round, but there’s something extra special about it through the fall and winter months. Maybe because it’s burns a hole so deep in your esophagus you never feel the need to stand next to a heater again. Or maybe it just tastes really good. Either way, you be the judge.

The Spiced Apple (our Sauced Apple, depending on how many of these you or your guests gulp down) is an easy drink to make that will impress your friends and family alike. After making an infused simple syrup - which you can totally do in advance - you combine some lemon juice, bitters, bourbon, and hard cider and serve with your choice of a cinnamon sugared rim or apple slices and cinnamon sticks. Both options will leave you with the warm fuzzies. Sip next to a fire for added aesthetic and you’re officially a seasonal goddess.
