this bird is gonna fly

Perhaps the most dreaded part of the Thanksgiving meal making process is dressing the turkey. I know that’s not just me! There are so many ways to do it - stuffing or no stuffing? what the hell is a garnish? does everything on the platter have to be edible? All are great questions and some of those will probably let your imagination get the better of you. Personally, my brain has already wandered off to that *insane* mushroom powder story from a few months back...Anyway! If you’re not trying to purposefully poison your in-laws, check out some of these ideas to keep your bird looking extra fly this holiday.

You really don’t need to go all out here, the turkey should be the star of the show. So, genuinely, don’t sweat about this. Some popular options for dressing up your dish are lemon halves and slices and whole heads of garlic with the tops chopped off. These options are both rustic and elegant and work well with most turkey recipes. Large sprigs of herbs are also a go-to for a reason - they add an incredible aroma and color to the platter. Something else that’s fun is fresh cranberries or a similar looking floral additive. Remember, these things are decorative, no every single garnish has to be edible. No matter what you end up doing, just make sure you’re having fun!
