Decorating with Candlelight
shine bright
What’s more ethereal than decorating with candlelight? Nothing really, I can tell you that much. If you’re hosting an outdoor party, you really should be considering all the ways in which you can add some flickering moodiness to your ambiance. The good news is, if you’re afraid of unattended candles catching fire to your abode, there are plenty of flameless options these days that are pretty darn realistic (especially if your guests have had a glass or two…). Fear not! Let us light your way.

The go-to here for safe and festive candlelight decor is to stock up on hurricane holders and/or lanterns. These guys come in so many styles, it is physically impossible to not find one you like. From tiny votives to massive statement pieces, there’s bound to be something that catches your eye and fits your decor.
You know what the best part of decorating with candles is? It fits with literally any budget. Big or small, you can create some serious magic with just the littlest touch. Add a few tea lights and bam! You’re an entertaining wizard. Make your guests feel warm and cozy (and extremely photogenic) with some strategically placed candles. Pro tip: if you’re using a bunch at once, make sure they’re unscented.
P.S. Make sure your guests don’t trip over themselves. If friends or family will will be traversing an outdoor path, make sure to light the way. Down stairs or leading up to your front door, your guests will definitely thank you once the sun has set.
