Metallic Holiday Decor - Oh Shiny!

shine bright

Inject serious bling into your holiday decor this year with some pieces that really shine! From traditional to MCM to rustic, a little bit of sparkly magic works with everyone’s style. Whether you want to go all out or add in a few subtle pops, read on for how to incorporate metallics into your holiday decorations. There’s no better way to spark the holiday spirit!

a little bit of shimmer

For starters, there’s no right or wrong way of doing this. Go all out or not, it’s your choice and it’s your taste. The only thing that matters is if you like it! If you’re tired of all the plaid and red and green (who isn’t sometimes), then metallics are the perfect way to go. Mixed metals are all the rage these days and they’re not going anywhere - especially when it comes to home design. Play around with proportions and tones. Blend yellow gold with silver and rose gold, brass with pewter. Why not? It all works together!

Maybe not so surprisingly, many of the things you may want to spruce up your space will work year round. Incorporating pieces like throw blankets, pillows, and candle holders or sticks with metallic accents are all items you can add 24/7 to lighten the mood in your home. But there’s something extra magical about them when they’re saved for the holiday season.

If you’re looking for holiday specific decor, there are the classics right at your fingertips: ornaments, garland, wreaths, and stockings. Veer off the path a bit and I guarantee you’ll be able to find something whimsical. You can even use this time to add some sparkle to your baked goods! Cookies with glassy sprinkles always inspire seasonal goodness.

Soak up the sparkle

Between the bewitchment of all the twinkle lights and the added flair of your metallic decorations, there’s no way this isn’t your favorite time of year! Create your own mixed metal wonderland in your home. If you start to feel overwhelmed by too much sparkle (I mean, I suppose it’s possible), play around with moving an item or two or tone it down a notch by spraying a few things in Santa Snow!
